Synthesis and Antiproliferative Activity of 2,5-bis(3′-Indolyl)pyrroles, Analogues of the Marine Alkaloid Nortopsentin
2013
2,5-bis(3′-Indolyl)pyrroles, analogues of the marine alkaloid nortopsentin, were conveniently prepared through a three step procedure in good overall yields. Derivatives 1a and 1b exhibited concentration-dependent antitumor activity towards a panel of 42 human tumor cell lines with mean IC50 values of 1.54 μM and 0.67 μM, respectively. Investigating human tumor xenografts in an ex-vivo clonogenic assay revealed selective antitumor activity, whereas sensitive tumor models were scattered among various tumor histotypes.
The in Vivo Effects of Interleukin 2 (TCGF)
1982
This brief review of our experiments concerning the in vivo activity of crude Il-2 led us to the following conclusion: The first is the existence, in vivo, of a cyclophosphamide-sensitive T-cell controlling the activity of a serum born Il-2 inhibitor in thymus-bearing normal mice. Under in vivo conditions which are characterized by high Il-2 inhibitor activities, locally applied Il-2 administered along with antigen amplified in vivo CTL-responsiveness, yet the effect observed was poor. Crude Il-2 proved to be a potent immuno-enhancing agent in the athymic (nu/nu) mouse, which lacks Il-2 inhibitor activity. It was found that together with antigen administration of Il-2 to nude mice results i…
Scandium-44: Benefits of a Long-Lived PET Radionuclide Available from the 44Ti/44Sc Generator System
2011
(44)Ti/(44)Sc radionuclide generators are of interest for molecular imaging. The 3.97 hours half-life of (44)Sc and its high positron branching of 94.27% may stimulate the application of (44)Sc-labeled PET radiopharmaceuticals. This review describes the current status of (44)Ti production, (44)Ti/(44)Sc radionuclide generator development, post-processing of generator eluates towards medical application, identification of ligands adequate to Sc(III) co-ordination chemistry, proof-of-principle labeling of (44)Sc-DOTA-octreotides, investigation of in vitro and in vivo parameters, and initial applications for molecular imaging - both in small animals and humans.
